Arsenal has been eyeing a young talent from West Ham lately – defender Issa Diop.
Diop joined West Ham in 2018 and has been there ever since – and has made 63 appearances, including all competitions.
Arteta wants Issa Diop to partner up with William Saliba, who will be returning this summer to Arsenal after his loan spell expires at Saint-Etienne, according to Mirror.
Pablo Mari’s contract is still not permanent – it is yet to be set in stone. Arsenal couldbe witnessing the loss of several players this summer. The players might include Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and even Aubameyang maybe. However, Arsenal at this point, can’t afford to lose them, especially Aubameyang.
Sokratis has expressed his wish to move to another club if he is not happy at Arsenal.
“I don’t know [if I will leave next year]. I have one more year here but me, I never sit on my contract. I don’t care. If I’m not happy, I don’t play enough or the coach doesn’t like me, I don’t care about the contract.
With the possibility of so many leaving, signing Issa Diop is a primary concern for Arteta now – who is looking to rebuild his squad this summer.
