Arsenal To Give Option Of 3 Players To Atletico Madrid In Return For Thomas Partey

Arsenal are ready to offer one of three of their players to Atletico Madrid in return for Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta is hopeful of signing the midfielder over to his side, but Arsenal is struggling to put the €50million (£45m) release clause together to buy him.

With the Gunner’s finances down due to the COVID-19 crisis, their next best bet is to offer a player of their own along with money as an added incentive for securing a player’s transfer.

The three players up for picking by Atletico are Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin and Lucas Torreira.

However, Arteta had talked about Lacazette last month, contradicting his possibility of a sale to Atletico.

“Why would I want to lose a player like him? I’m really happy with him,” he said last month about Lacazette.

“I really like Alex, I said that even before I joined here that he is the type of striker that I really like.

“I think he had periods where he was very unlucky because he was having the chances and not converting them which he is not used to.

“But the way he can link play, he’s a massive competitor he hates to lose. He goes for every ball, you see in every challenge how he’s ready to go.

“He works really hard and he’s a very intelligent player, I am really happy with him.”

So will it be Bellerin or Torreira up for grabs?
