Crystal Palace firmly pursues Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

David Ornstein, a journalist at The Athletic, recently revealed that Crystal Palace is very interested in signing Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah during this offseason. The Eagles have been impressed by Nketiah, who has shown off his abilities in 26 games for the Gunners this season with six goals and four assists.

He said in a Q&A session by The Athletic: “A midfielder to replace Cheick Doucoure seems plausible, as does a striker. They have a firm interest in Eddie Nketiah, but Arsenal have not indicated any desire to let him go. If that changes, I’d expect Palace to push hard.”

Palace is still determined to sign the 24-year-old forward even after their initial investigation was unsuccessful. Ornstein claims that while Arsenal has not stated that it plans to let go of Nketiah, the Eagles are willing to step up their efforts in case that the Englishman becomes available for trade.

Arsenal wants a big-name striker, and Ivan Toney of Brentford is at the top of their list, but budgetary restraints might prevent them from going on an exorbitant spending binge.

The Bees may make a tactical change if they seek a big £80 million for Toney. Nketiah, who Transfermarkt values at £30 million, might be available for purchase if Toney’s transfer fee turns out to be more advantageous.

Nketiah continues to be a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the time being, splitting playing time with Gabriel Jesus. Nketiah’s situation may alter in the upcoming weeks as the transfer drama plays out, and Palace is prepared to take advantage of any chance to sign him.
