Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that he is happy with his team’s performance against Liverpool. The Gunners drew 1-1 against Liverpool at the Emirates yesterday.

The match was an exciting contest with both sides playing remarkable football. Liverpool appeared to have taken the lead in the first half when Sadio Mane scored before his goal was ruled offside.

However, Liverpool did take the lead just after the hour mark thanks to James Milner. The goal was Milner’s 50th Premier League goal.

Arsenal fought hard for an equaliser and got one in the 82nd minute thanks to Alexandre Lacazette.

The draw may not be a result Arsenal will be happy with but it sure answers everybody who doubted Arsenal performing well against top teams.

Following the match, Unai Emery praised his team’s performance. He said, “I am happy with our performance. I think the balance in 90 minutes is more positive in the control against them, but it’s difficult not to let them have chances also. You need a little luck in some moments in the match and when we are attacking we need to find our goal.

The result in the end is 1-1 and I think it is a good result after we were losing 1-0. We could have lost in one moment and in the 90 minutes we could have won also.”

Arsenal fell one place down to 5th in the Premier League table because Tottenham defeated Wolves 3-2 to go to 4th.

The Gunners next play a Europa League fixture against Sporting CP on Thursday.
