Lucas Torreira Rubbishes All Claims About A Departure, Says He Is Happy At Arsenal

Lucas Torreira very quickly denied any desire to leave Arsenal at this very moment.

Reports have flooded in about the Uruguayan demanding a move out of the Emirates after incidents of homesickness.

He was linked with Serie A side, AC Milan very strongly. Of course, Torreira also admitted that he wishes to play for South American giants, Boca Juniors at last once in his career. That did not help matters as the rumour mill flowed.

Torreira has settled all concerns regarding his future. He admits that he eventually might have to leave North London but currently, he is happy here.

“Today my intention and my head are at Arsenal,” he told El Intransigente. “I want to recover, go back to 100 per cent.

“I have a very long contract with the club – until 2023 – and it was very difficult for me to get here. Wearing the shirt of Boca Juniors is a wish and a pending dream that I have. This is how I feel, but I say it at the age of 24 and being at one of the most important teams in the world like Arsenal.”

Torreira is back in full training after fracturing his ankle against Portsmouth in March. Getting him back would be huge boost for Arsenal as they are due to face Manchester City on the first return fixture on 17 June.
