Mikel Arteta refuses to confirm whether Jorginho will still be at the club next season

Jorginho made 24 appearances for the Gunners in his first half-season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up on Jorginho and he has refused to confirm whether Jorginho will still be at the club next season. He also insisted that he is “really happy” with his skills.

Jorginho remains on the radar of experts since his move from Chelsea in last season’s winter transfer window. He was called on as a cover to Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka after Mohamed Elneny suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The Italian made 24 appearances for the Gunners in his first half-season, scoring one goal and netting two more goals, and he earned nine starts under Arteta.

Arteta said at his press conference regarding the 32-year-old, “I’m really happy with him, that’s all I can say. When we imagined what he could bring to the team and how we could make us better, he’s doing exactly that or even better.”

“The contract situation is for Edu and the board to manage. But his application, and the capacity he has in the big matches to affect the game is tremendous and he was really good against Liverpool again.”
