Ben White is poised to sign a new contract with the Gunners.

The Gunners are keen to extend the defender’s contract who has been a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s backline since his £50m move from Brighton in the summer of 2021.

The 26-year-old centre-back slotted in the right-back position for the 2022/23 season and was an excellent fit for Mikel Arteta’s squad.

He has featured 15 times already this campaign and all his appearances have come as a full-back.

White’s contract with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2026 but the club is keen to reward White with a new contract following his stellar form since joining the club.

His versatility is of great use to Mikel Arteta who wants him at the club for years to come and the club have already started discussions over a new contract.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that both the player and club are keen to pen a final agreement.

Romano said: “Understand negotiations between Arsenal and Ben White on a new long term deal continue as feeling remains positive since day one.

“It’s not done yet but in progress, all parties are very confident.”
